Beautiful Losers?

Beautiful yes, and if they are losers then....can I come play? this group of talented misfits (my favorite kind) are well documented as a art show, a book, and in film. Here are a few of my favorites from the movement plus a few of my own personal faves.

1. banksy  a genius. a little political, a little clever, pleasing to the mind. all tied into an amazing art style. he is a secret. if you have not seen exit throught the gift shop then maybe you should come back to this post....it will still be here when you get back.
2.  shephard fairey love his work even more since i became a mom
3.aaron rose because every artist needs someone to have their back and make it happen.
4. barry mcgee and margaret kilgallen seems almost unnatural not to mention them together. best people interpretations. barry's faces...even if you can't dig 'em, he has so much integrity. margaret made visual inventory fun for the brain and pleasing to the eye. she died at age 33, from complications of breast cancer, 3 weeks after her and barry's daughter was born.
5. steve "espo" powers i love information, steve's work provides it in afresh, fun way that tickles your brain.
6. mike mills  is a genius. simple and smart. i love the sad. he was pretty entertaining in the film as well. love his style.

One Liners to Love

I love it when Jack Nicholson tells Diane Keaton "Your a woman to love" Somethings Gotta Give Really I am a sucker for one liners. NO REALLY it's unreal. I actually worry that if I ever become old and demented people will never know it, because I have made a lifetime pastime out of collecting and storing one liners. And I am pretty sure I could make a convincing argument for sanity by stringing a few together. The more clever they are the more I love them. Those of you who know me...get your chuckle on.

Here's a list of my favorites:
*God will assure my success according to His plan, not mine
*Pick up the clue phone, it's reality calling.
*It is what it is....unless it isn't
*An explanation of cause is not justification by reason (CS Lewis)
*Just because you figured out how something was put together or made doesn't mean there is no God
*Mama say obey!( Shephard Fairey I think I love your art even more now that I have become a mom)
*There is a certain freedom in having nothing left to lose.
*The irony is this: While God doesn't need us, He still wants us...We desperately need God, but don't really want Him most of the time.
*I can sleep when I'm dead.
*All that matter in life is the reality of who we are before God
*Got Apathy? check your pulse
*God's main goal for us in life is Himself
*It's Oxymoronic.....this was how I described Ricky Gervais' closing comment at the Golden Globes---if your really an athiest there is no God to thank which brings me to my next one liner
*Diagnosis: Dumbass.
*Affection is responsible for 9/10 of whatever solid and durable happiness there is in our lives. (c.s.lewis)
*What is the worst that could happen?
*You can't instill in your kids what you don't have yourself
*Stand for something or you'll fall for anything.
*I don't want the world, I just want your half. Thank you TMBG
*How's that working for ya?
*Be there. daddy-o
*Faith is acting on what God says regardless of how I feel about it because God promises a good result. (Pastor James)
*Get in line.
*It's just not that hard (mon)
*We are often given opportunities, disguised as problems impossible to solve.
*It's a short journey from doubt to despair. and desperate plans come from despairing hearts.
*The only difference between me and that is a few bad choices.
*You better check yourself..
*Depression is believing the lie about yourself and spending the whole day dispelling it
*I had anxiety for breakfast.
*That's right up my alley.
*This book will keep me from sin or sin will keep me from this book (pastor james)
*Choose to sin, choose to suffer. (pastor james)
*I cannot make everyone happy. Today is not your day and tomorrow is not looking good either.
*If you can't laugh at this place, it will kill you.
*This house is not a dump....on a side note here's a funny blog on the subject: eclecticeffervescence
*A Man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word "darkness" on the walls of his cell. (cs lewis)
*What is the worst case scenario?

App Connoisseur...thats what I'm going for.

connoisseur (noun) meaning "to be acquainted with" or "to know something."
Judgment informed by intuition is essential, but is grounded in a thorough understanding of the work itself.

I wish I could make a career out of app connoisseurship and "the cult of originality" that is the app store. The only reward for one bearing the title app connoisseur is awesomeness. It doesn't pay the bills, but it keeps life interesting. I love trying out new and interesting apps, gadgets, whatever...and sharing what I find with the people I love. That makes me opinionated and verbal. Not always a great combo, but when it comes to making your life easier then aren't you glad I shared?!

Here are my current top 12 apps: it's my list it doiesn't have to be a nice number)

1. Words With Friends I love words, I love this app. I like that I can play and text my old neighbor who now lives in Texas. I like that it will create games with random opponents as well. I use this when friends I am playing are taking to long to respond (M.) Fun and hey, there is a free edition so really what have you got to lose?

2. ESV Bible this app has a great layout for Harvest's favorite bible translation. You are loved and might love this app.

3. Dennis Miller this is a great app. You can stream the show whenever you like. Brains, logic, and laughs. 3 of my favorite things. DMZ, Mansquito, and amazing guests.

4. Memiary A Diary for busy people. What?! I am busy....just not right now. This allows you to record your top 5 things of the day. It has a nice layout and is easy to read the archives. This one is under my "If I Die" icon. Hopefully my kids will read it someday, who else would?

5. Awesome Note yeah it is! Portable paperless files on whatever your little, administrative heart desires! I keep one for each of our family members, password codes, work, gift ideas....whatever. Another app under "If I die." Because if I go under, J is going to need it.

6. Moxie where else can you change turn into burn? Did I mention how much I like words? It's a thinking man's or woman's word game. And yes my itouch is making me dumber, but my Moxie is leveling the playing feild. Take my word for it or download this new defense against stupid and see for yourself.

7. Epic Win Yeah it is! A superfun and witty way to turn your todo list into a todone list. I am the treeman. Takes you on a daily quest to get er done! Motivates you with points and loot! (because lets face it noone else is giving you any credit for accomplishing the random chores that are daily life) There is something gratifying about getting 300 points for changing diapers and picking up some loot along the way. Also you can link your progress to social networking sites so your friends can marvel at your progress.....or illicit some uninvited accountability.

8. Prayer Wall the praying life foundation got this one right! This app allows you to post and pray specifically for anonymous Christ followers! I love, love, love this app.

9. Couch to 5K This app was a great 9 week trainer for the Santa Run.....which I didn't do thatnks to massive snow fall. I did however train....for the last 2 weeks. I really like this app because it allows you to play your own music, but will inturrupt periodically to let you know when to switch up your activity. Thumbs up! I keep this under my "Y UR Fat" Icon....no comments from the peanutbutter gallery.

10. Le Petit Dummy has been entertaining our family for quite some time.

11. Avatar lets you make faces that look like your friends for those who are in your contact list.

12. FML no, I will not tell you what it stands for, however I will tell you if you log on you will instantly feel better about your life, and have a good laugh. and Demotivational posters think you've seen it all? I assure you, you have not. Download and smile.

Getting Dumber?

I think my itouch is actually making me dumber. Really. It is too good, too smart. I wonder about alot of random things. There is no need to tax myself with critically thought out investigation. If there is some bit of knowledge that strikes my fancy I ask Google. Google knows everything and there is an app for that. Thank God, because if I had to wait more than 15 seconds to satiate my wonder....my head might explode.
